In hmolscience, Barry Commoner (1917-2012) was an American biologist, ecologist, and politician noted for his 1976 The Poverty of Power: Energy and the Economic Crisis, in which, according to Michael Macrakis, he prepared a popular presentation of thermodynamics in support of his policy views on the then trendy energy conservation. [1] The gist of the book seems to comprise an opening laymanized history of thermodynamics chapter, followed by chapters on energy use sources, fossil fuels, nuclear fuel, solar power, etc. [2]
