Goethe
In 1776, Johann Herder recommended the Chemical Wedding novel to Goethe. [1]
In 1786, Goethe wrote to Charlotte von Stein, mentioning that in Chemical Wedding saw the making of a good story; in particular: [2]
“There will be a good fairy tale to tell at the right time, but it will have to be reborn, it can’t be enjoyed in its old skin.”

In 2011, British artist Wolfe von Lenkiewicz used the Chemical Wedding man-woman alchemy marriage symbol on his oil on canvas “Elective Affinities” painting, themed on Goethe's 1809 Elective Affinities, and Alice and Wonderland.
