In 1994, Ames, in her New Magdeburg Experiments, gave the first English translation of Otto Guericke’s classic 1672 Latin-penned Ottonis de Guericke Experimenta Nova (ut vocantur) Magdeburgica de Vacuo Spatio, along with much need preface. [1]
